Project need

AEquitas is need of minor revisions to our existing site including but not limited to the addition of Amazon Smile and Shop and Support and two additional ways folks can "donate" to AEquitas. This project is a priority for AEquitas because we are diligently working to identify ways in which we can increase private donations and our unrestricted capital. Currently AEquitas is funded primarily by reimbursement based grants and the time and effort required to manage cashflow is restricting our ability to dedicate time and attention to mission based initiatives. This project will allow AEquitas staff without web design experience to learn from the volunteers and ideally be able to make minor adjustments to the site quickly and efficiently in the future. Building our internal capacity by working with skilled volunteers will enable staff to be more more responsive to the needs of our primary target audience (prosecutors). Our website was created using the WordPress platform to allow for staff without web design expertise to be able to make content changes, but the structure is something we are less comfortable with making adjustments too. We have the access and the rights to the site, but we don't have the skill to ensure a seamless revision.

Organization's mission

AEquitas' mission is to improve access to and the quality of justice in gender-based violence and human trafficking cases through an informed practical, and innovative approach. AEquitas' staff is comprised of former prosecutors, with over 100 years of collective experience who conduct legal research; provide 24/7 case consultation; serve as instructors at training events and webinars; and publish resources.
