You'll have a 30 minute call to discuss the scope and deliverables of the project directly with Free World Associates, and for them to confirm you're a good fit.
Once accepted, you'll be able to get right to work. We will check in with you periodically to make sure you have everything you need.
I am publishing a novel which educates westerners about Ethiopia's human rights crisis. Former Amnesty International director Jack Healey calls it the most searing account of contemporary evil since Uncle Tom's Cabin." I need an editor to proofread the advanced reader copy for grammar and typos. The 65,000-word manuscript is already clean. Hopefully, there will not be a lot to fix. Experience required. The volunteer must be able to start within a week and work quickly. The deliverable will be a marked-up draft, preferably pdf.
More information about the book is available on www.moneybloodandconscience.com
Free World Associates is a 30-year old unincorporated network of human rights and democracy promotion activists. Our mission is to promote global peace and economic development by helping closed societies become more democratic, transparent and accountable. We are working with Taproot on 3 projects:
1. "Money, Blood and Conscience" is a novel that aims to bring to public attention Ethiopia’s human rights crisis. A for-profit social enterprise, proceeds will support our pro bono democracy promotion work.
2. Operation Conscience is a social impact campaign to raise awareness of genocides committed by the Ethiopian government.
3. World Liberation Radio aims to test if the basic ideas of nonviolence can be taught to oppressed populations around the world by radio. It is fiscally sponsored by the Social Good Fund, Inc., a 501c3.
