Project Overview

We undertake a good deal of social media messaging and need help in three different categories. You may be adept at more than one, but we will gratefully accept several different people based on your skills. We need:
- A volunteer adept at posting messages across platforms
- A volunteer adept at maximizing the reach of those messages to new potential viewers
- A volunteer able to speak to, access, and mobilize an audience you know very well how to speak to. It can be a professional group, an ethnic group, a community, a sector of our class-differentiated society, an age group, or a subset of any major group.

You know how diverse America is. We want to speak to many different audiences. If you are a generalist, we also have a role for you.

We act as a sorely needed but independent nonprofit marketing agency for an education movement called social-emotional learning, and we seek to bring support for it from most sectors of the public, Which is why you can be a generalist with us or believe you have a gift for catching the attention of specific audiences and sectors.

The Equip Our Kids! campaign (see equipourkids.org ) primarily focuses on mobilizing parents, students, and general public awareness and activism around the enormous benefits to children, schools, and society of bringing emotional intelligence and relationship skills training into every school. Educators call it Social-Emotional Learning, and it is a major positive game changer for students, communities, and workplaces.

Children equipped with the range of EQ and other skills fare much better – they are more resilient and better able to adapt to change, better able to manage their feelings and actions, more able to cooperate and collaborate, to understand and be empathetic to others around them. Schools with comprehensive SEL see a sustained improvement in grades, attendance, student happiness, and emotional well-being in and out of school. These schools also see sustained decreases in violence, bullying, students experiencing depression and anxiety, suicides, dropout rates, and drug/alcohol use. So does society as these students grow into adulthood. SEL also plays a major role in helping mitigate the child and youth national mental health crisis brought on by Covid restrictions.

Our belief is you will be helping the most important education reform AND social movement of our time because of its potential to transform on a mass level human mindsets and behaviors that create so much pain, suffering, and conflict in the world, individually and collectively. We are passionate about this mission and our goals to help bring comprehensive SEL to every US school by 2030.

We use the best-known social media platforms for messaging. We have some major geographic, ethnic, and other initiatives we are launching and want to back these with as much social media noise as we can muster with the aid of volunteers who relish the opportunity to bring this cause to the people they know how to reach. We are accomplished professionals who work closely and in highly supportive ways with our volunteers, mentoring where necessary - and are grateful for your help and show it. We work within the hours you can comfortably provide, and we don't put pressure or harsh deadlines on volunteers.

Nonprofit Overview

EQuip Our Kids! intends to be a mass advertising and marketing education campaign whose sole and huge vision is to galvanize the American public to include in every school's daily curriculum education for students and staff in emotional management and in relationship and co-creativity social skills – to the demonstrated and evidence-based profound benefit of children, teens, adults, the schools themselves, and society and business (the economy) as a whole. In education circles, this is best known as Social and Emotional Learning.
