Project Overview

We need help with fundraising efforts. Our organization has a building in dire need of repair, mainly a roof. Our project is to create Baton Rouge's first sustainable art and community space.
This project is a priority now because we have an opportunity to expand our mission and reach by operating in a larger commercial building.

Our goal is to uplift the community by being an example of how a run-down building can transform into a neighborhood resource and a city-wide destination.

Our plan is to be the first totally sustainable art and community space in Baton Rouge. Our vision is to integrate Baton Rouge by providing a safe space to be entertained, to learn, to heal and grow. A place where white, black, gay, straight, rich or poor are not only welcome but valued.

Our mission is to unite Baton Rouge and beyond through creative expression, community engagement, and neighborhood revitalization.

We have acquired the building. We have solar panels, batteries, and an inverter. We have a biogas toilet and a composter. We have a 5 phase water filtration system.

We have volunteers ready to provide manual labor. We have a roster of artists and performers willing and ready to utilize the space. We have teamed up with other organizations to provide Dialog on Race (a 5-week workshop series designed to educate and eliminate racism), After School Tutoring, Dance, and Video Classes for Youth Financial Literacy (A 14-week workshop series provided by WSB), AA, and Sexual Abuse survivor support groups.
