DiningSafetyAlliance.org is a nonprofit poised to offer a critical educational resource for food delivery staff. The COVID-19 pandemic has identified an educational void. DiningSafetyAlliance will meet that need. A robustly designed marketing strategy will focus on three groups: hospitality industry vendors, food delivery staff and independent restauranteurs. Our marketing goals are to 1) increase sponsorship from the hospitality vendor industry 2) increase awareness of our sponsored and free educational program to food delivery staff 3) offer restaurant owners a tool to monitor successful completion of our "Delivery Food Safety" course.
The entire world is now acutely aware of the need for stricter food safety. With restaurant closures, many restaurants and customers are turning to home food delivery. Unfortunately, there are food safety risks for the public and handling risks for delivery staff. How well prepared, in food safety principles, are the delivery staff? What precautions are taken to keep transported food safe? What precautions are taken for delivery staff safety? This creates the milieu for a foodborne illness epidemic. DiningSafetyAlliance.org has connected with thousands of hospitality industry vendors through participation in national forums; restaurant workers and restaurant owners through our sponsored Window Decal program. Our website and social media channels are operational. Our "Delivery Food Safety" course is developed and being revised to be ready for implementation, coincident with the marketing plan. The service offered to be offered restauranteurs is complete.
