Project Overview

Hip Circle needs an overall game plan for reaching prospective students, teaching staff members, committee members, and Board of Directors. We know there are women who are searching for ways to feel strong, beautiful, and worthy of attention, and we want to connect with them and have them join the Hip Circle Community. Our overall value prop: Hip Circle is a vibrant Bellydance and Fitness Studio created to make health and wellness accessible to women of all ages, shapes, and ethnicities. If you identify as a woman you are welcomed and accepted here. We're looking for big-picture messaging, as well as the logistical details of launching specific campaigns aimed at increasing the number of students, staff members, committee members, and Board of Directors members we have.

As a non-profit, we are hoping to take advantage of social media campaigns over print ads. We know that we need to show the authentic aspects of the dance, fitness, and community workshops we offer, but we're not sure where to post these thoughts, how to spread the word, or how to leverage Instagram, Snapchat, or Twitter to communicate with women who might be looking for a place like Hip Circle.

Having shifted to 100% remote programming for the first time in Hip Circle history in light of COVID-19, it is a necessity that we attract more members to keep the doors open and the lights on. We've been serving the community for the past 10 years, and like many small businesses, are struggling to make ends meet without being able to use the physical studio space we've been using to cultivate the Hip Circle Community. It is vital that add additional members, teaching staff, committee members, and Board of Directors to fundraise, recruit, and offer additional programming to the women we serve.
We recently held a retreat for our Board of Directors where we've slimmed down and focused on two very specific calls to action: fundraising and recruiting.

We've identified short-term and medium-term goals and prioritized which steps we'd like to take before the end of September, and before the end of the year.

We have active social media handles on Facebook (, Twitter (, LinkedIn (, Instagram (, and an internal volunteer team that posts regular updates.

We're also interested in offering video tutorials, but we're not sure how to balance showcasing an element of what we offer and entice people to sign up for an entire class. We have a few videos on YouTube ( but we're not sure how to solve pain points with our videos.

Once we have the Marketing Strategy, we will rely on our volunteer team to post content across our social media channels, and on our Executive Director and Board of Directors to produce content.
