Business planning is an area of development for our organization. We need someone to help guide us through this process because it will help us ensure that we are securing the right amount of funds for the organization every year. Also, it will help us really look at what our true needs are for each year and how to grow the organization. Our goal is grow the organization. The organization is named after African American golf pioneer Ted Rhodes. He was the 1st African American in the modern era to play in the US Open. We want the organization to build it's focus and scale and scope. Currently, we host golf tournaments and golf clinics for youth. We donate funds to urban youth golf programs and Historically Black Colleges and Universities golf teams. For business planning, we have talked about the need for growth and having a strategy around it. We have the right attitude and interest in growing the organization. We will assign a staff member to focus on the business planning piece after implementation.
Our mission is to preserve and honor the legacy of golfing pioneer Theodore “Ted” Rhodes.
Ted Rhodes’ vision was to make the game of golf open to all races. The Foundation is honoring his vision by advancing future generations of minority golfers by hosting educational events, golf clinics, and golf tournaments for youth and adults. Also, we provide financial support to Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) golf teams and golf team members to help further this mission. We also partner with local urban youth golf programs.
