Project Overview
Help us recruit mission-driven leaders to our nonprofit! We are seeking a volunteer to help us craft a comprehensive board member recruitment plan. Project tasks will include:
-Meeting with our organization's leadership to establish which board roles are vacant
-Conducting interviews with board or staff members involved in board recruitment or prospecting to establish which tactics have and have not been successful in the past
-Development of the first draft of an inclusive board recruitment strategy that includes clear tactics for reaching candidates representative of the community that we're serving and who meet our current leadership needs
-Finalizing the recruitment strategy by incorporating feedback from relevant team members
We support the hard-working teachers and staff of a large 6A high school in the Portland, Oregon area. We're struggling to recruit new volunteers with the skills we need to carry our mission forward. This is where you come in! Help us pitch to our community to attract talented, diverse, and representative community members. We'd also love to improve our pitching to donors as well.
We have met as a board to start a SWOT analysis. We have a publicity person and school staff standing by to implement the project once completed. Our Board of Directors is definitely in support of this project.
Nonprofit Overview
We support the 4 A’s: Academics, Arts, Athletics, and Activities. Like a PTA or PSO, we are a group of parents, guardians, and community members who work on committees, organize events, and raise funds to enhance learning and community at Tualatin High School. We are the only organization to provide enhanced funding for TuHS academics and are established as a 501(c)(3) public charity. We oversee and coordinate ACT PREP classes, the annual Grad Night party, staff appreciation, and fundraising events.
