PULSE of NY completed a strategic plan and we want to move from PULSE of NY to the name Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy. We are a patient safety organization and advocate and educate through seminars and classes and at the bedside about navigating through the healthcare system for safe, quality medical care. Our focus is on the patient and their family and serving them. We are not about the blaming following a bad outcome but preventing them. We are struggling financially and think it might be because we seem limited to New York. We expanded our board to someone in Fla and will now have a relationship with a large academic university teaching our program. Founded in 1996 we have years as a grassroots small organization. We want to change the name and branding just enough to expand on our new strategic plan. Announce our new name, logo, website and show that we have a stronger focus and getting away from the "grassroots" look
PULSE of NY now known as Pulse Center for Patient Safety Education & Advocacy is a nonprofit 501 (c) 3 community-based organization dedicated to raising awareness about patient safety through advocacy, education and support. Pulse envisions a world in which the patient’s voice is heard and no one is harmed by healthcare.
In our work with patients, families and communities Pulse values effective communication, respect, diversity, accountability, honesty, teamwork, compassion, and above all safety.
Since 1996 Pulse has been educating the public about patient safety. Our advocacy training empowers the patient, and the family and friends of the patient, to partner with their health care providers, helping to ensure the best possible outcomes in a person’s medical care. We collaborate with medical professionals and the public to accomplish this work
