Project need

Pedal4Life is a 501 (c) (3) in dire need of grant writer to help reach a specific dollar goal by March 1, 2019. While its probably most effective to have a volunteer in the Greater Chicago area or in North Carolina, the right volunteer can work from anyplace. Heroin and opioid abuse is the fastest growing epidemic in the U.S. To help those in recovery avoid relapse, we are planning for our third major fundraising bike event in June, and to raise enough money aside from the event, to deliver our Pathway2Home program at two drug treatment centers in 2019. For two years Pedal4Life's Pathway2Home has succeeded in saving lives from opioid addiction in the Greater Chicago area. Now, as we expand into the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina, we need additional help in raising funds to build our program in the heart of the opioid epidemic. The grant writer, if successful, will raise funds used to purchase bicycles and gear that we use to engage those in recovery in the physical, emotional, and social benefits fo recreational cycling. We will provide all materials needed to write successful grants. Exit survey results, key messaging, videos, photo images, jpg files of logos, annual reports, and grant writing boilerplate details. Anyone interested can viti our website at to learn more about us.

Organization's mission

Pedal4Life engages those recovering from opiate and other substance addictions in experiencing the physical, social, and emotional benefits of recreational bicycling.

We do this by inviting veterans, who have already used bicycling to help them succeed with their own recovery, to mentor and inspire civilians in drug treatment facilities. Our programs help family members to rebuild trust, love, and support with their loved ones coping with addiction.

Our 6-week Pathway2Home program helps those in recovery to sustain healthy lifestyles as respected and inspirational members of their communities and families.
