Our goal is to advocate on behalf of our homeless female veterans, insuring that they get permanent employment and housing. Genesis is making history by becoming the first transitional housing facility in Middle Georgia to house homeless female veterans. The closest transitional facility for homeless females is in Atlanta and Augusta (which is two to three hours away).
Genesis Joy House Homeless Shelter, Inc., is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that serves our homeless female veterans. To facilitate social change and empower our veterans and community by providing transitional housing, enrichment programs, and counseling services to improve quality of life.
We are currently renovating a property that's been donated to us. The property appraised for $238,00; however it's in need of renovations. We won $100,000 to date in grant funding and we've commenced our renovations project. We hope to be up and running by December 2019.
