Project need

This position will work with BMEAS’s leadership and team on grant research and writing (and possibly related fundraising). We are entering into an intensive grant-writing period, so this position is crucial to our work, notably as it will expand our programming. Virtual volunteering is welcomed.

• This individual will help identify funding opportunities and help put together high-quality applications and possibly interface with potential funders.
• For reference, we have extensive curricular materials that we have developed; BMEAS standard documentation available; and our previous grant applications.

Relevant experience:
• Experience with research, grant writing and fundraising --or similar work skills/background.
• Ability to organize information and collaborate with BMEAS stakeholders

Aside from having won support, we have also developed solid relationships with funders --including having been a finalist on a major grant-- who have strongly encouraged us to apply with them. Our team members have longstanding relationships throughout the non-profit community. Our team will provide all necessary support --and teamwork!-- to see this work through together. Thank you!

Organization's mission

BMEAS is focused on engendering a wellness- and creativity-driven desire for learning, engaging student-driven curiosity to inspire critical thinking in a supportive environment.

A wellness-based foundation supports students to help them embrace our inquiry-based learning model. Through their passion and our teachers’ facilitation, students can thrive academically and socially.

We work to embrace individuals and families at all levels of learning and need, with a goal to educate people of all ages, notably lower-income individuals. In particular, we aim to foster:
--curiosity through exploratory activities,
--creativity through regular incorporation of the arts and by solving problems in new and exciting ways,
--well-being via a holistic approach to focus on students as individuals, as scholars, and as community members,
--tenacity by inspiring students to achieve the highest academic levels.
