Session Overview
I would like to explore an idea of using press releases for fundraising purposes but I am not sure which subjects connected to our charity would 'sell'. Also, wanted to discuss potential distribution channels. Basically, looking for someone with a lot of PR experience who can do a bit of brainstorming with me and give some objective input. www.oursansar.org, facebook.com/oursansarNGO
Nonprofit Overview
Our Sansar is a dynamic and responsive International NGO providing education, shelter and welfare to the most disadvantaged children in Nepal for whom little or no help is forthcoming. We are a volunteer led organisation. Our Sansar focuses on Province 2 in southern Nepal, where there are about 400 street children living on the streets and no other organisations working to assist these children. We also aim to locate children before they are trafficked or cross the border and get involved in illegal activities in India.
Current projects
- Children’s Home for Street Children, Parwanipur (running since 2013, shelter, education, healthcare, counselling, reuniting with families where possible, skills training and work experience placements)
- Child Helpline and Day Care Centre/Transit Home, Birgunj (first ever Child Helpline in Province 2 in Nepal, emergency support, education, shelter, healthcare, counselling, reuniting with families where possible or linking with appropriate organisations)
- Education Project, Southern Nepal (teacher training and support of the costs of salary for a computer teacher in a village all girls school)
Past project
Earthquake Relief Project – 2015-2018 – Emergency Transit Home for children affected by the earthquake and family support project in Dhading (near the epicentre). The only emergency shelter (we built a series of bamboo houses on the ground donated by the local government for this project) for children in the district that got badly affected by the earthquake.
