Session Overview

My Org has a board that is not very responsive and effective, I need a new board that is more engaged. The tricky part is that we are fully Indigenous and will remain that way - but need advice on creating a new board.

Nonprofit Overview

The Climate Justice Initiative is an indigenous rights-based climate change organization designed to address the multifaceted issue of climate change in Indigenous communities by means of community-led empowerment, the development of strategies and methodologies for mitigating and adapting while empowering autonomy, preserving cultural heritage and directing our own cultural, health, social, environmental and economic future.

This Climate Justice Initiative is not only the first Indigenous climate change organization in the US, but also the first that is led by a founding board of Indigenous women. We work to help address the impacts social inequality and climate change in Indigenous communities and peoples which will have a ripple effect across every level of society and the globe.
