Session Overview
We created the first universal interactive health literacy and wellness program called The Healthcare Navigation Project. The CDC added corporations to the Healthy People 2030 Health Literacy definition making organizations responsible to teach employees how to USE their healthcare as of 2020. This is a change from prior to 2020. Corporations are mandated and incentivized to offer this new training. Our program would qualify.
I am looking for a benefits manager or someone who could help me take our five modules and brainstorm how they would look as corporate health and wellness training in a microlearning or lunch-and-learn type environment. Our hope is to be an add-on for benefits and used for recruitment and retention, as we can offer a completion certificate.
Our nonprofit is currently working in an underserved school system and within the rare disease community with several projects booked. The plan is to fund these through corporate sponsorships, and in return for sponsorship, we will give their employees whichever modules they would like. And through train-the-trainer, leave the material for future use. Our hope is that all people learn how to actually use their healthcare and be able to make informed decisions for themselves and others. To know before they need anything healthcare related instead of after when it's too late.
Nonprofit Overview
The Healthcare Navigation Project is an independent 501(c)(3) intentionally designed to disrupt our complex healthcare system with a health literacy and mental health life-skills program for ALL youth transitioning to adult care (HCT). This includes rare or chronic disease, underserved communities, or those with educational disabilities.
