We’re seeking a volunteer to help us develop a business plan that can be used to grow our organization, attract more support, and ultimately serve more underserved communities affected by the climate crisis and digital divide. Our volunteer will see the benefits and outcomes from their contributions, and we can be flexible about the length of the project and schedule.

To set our volunteer up for success, we’ll introduce them to our work and aspirations, recent success with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Lush Foundation, Earth Rising, and other corporate and government partners. We’ll also share our strategic and communications plans and solicit their thoughts on our thinking behind three key areas we’ve identified as critical components of a business plan including stakeholder engagement, long-term investment, and aligning social media and PR strategies.

**Also, please note that while we love collaborating with people from all over, our team works on the East Coast (Eastern Time Zone) and Southern (Central Time Zone) United States.

Our organization has accomplished a lot, and our fellows and leadership feel ready to take it to the next level. We offer great community programs and a well-rated podcast, produce groundbreaking research like our Ten States Project (which includes Louisiana), recently featured in the MIT Tech Review, and more.

We are proud to have quickly moved from the "idea" stage of our work to a proven concept with outcomes. Now, we are a nonprofit "startup" that is ready for our growth stage. You will have the opportunity to work with a committed and passionate team, and the people we serve look forward to you joining us for the next stage of our growth and service.

We have committed leadership, program staff, and engaged board members ready to support this project. Once we have a strategy, we have aligned administrative, finance, and social media partners to ensure that the finer points are put into place.

Organization Mission

The Undivide Project is the start of a body of work focused on undoing the so-called “Digital Divide” by working directly with communities. The first phase of our work will be directed towards understanding the impacts of digital divestment. We will offer bespoke solutions and implementation support reflective of community conditions. The next phase of the Undivide Project will focus on building community resilience using Internet tools. After that… we will let our community partners lead the way. Our vision is that the Internet and the benefits it can create should be accessible, equitable, green, and available to all.
