One World Girl is in the process of expanding our board of directors, and we need support from a professional on how best to build our board with engaged active members who feel passionate about our mission and understand our organizational needs as we expand and grow. We are seeking guidance on how best to recruit, orient, and engage new board members with a thoughtful introduction/invitation, a well-planned orientation, clear policies (including on financial giving), and a board manual, that includes a board application, agreement, guidelines for serving, our nonprofit vision and strategic plan, etc. so that there is clear communication and understanding, new board members can be onboarded well and current board members can embrace these changes into a prosperous future.
One World Girl, Inc. is a 501C3 nonprofit, established in New York City in 2017, to empower girls to be changemakers in the world. We need guidance from an experienced consultant who can help us develop our board of directors, which is key to creating a strong organizational foundation. We are looking for someone to bring a fresh and independent perspective to this work, as they support us in making smart and honest decisions about how best to select, engage and retain committed board members. Please help us with your skills and expertise so we can create our best opportunities for growth and change, as we work to expand our mission and impact more girls in New York and around the world.
We currently have a board of 7 engaged members, along with many required documents: articles of incorporation, bylaws, etc.. We also are completing our 5 year strategic plan to offer more clarity to our organizational mission and goals. Our board has had ongoing meetings 4-5 times a year since inception. So we have the basic structure, elements, etc. and are ready to expand and clarify with expert guidance. Finally, our executive director is available throughout the project to work along side the consultant, answer questions, and do the necessary work to complete our plan.
