Project Overview

Our nonprofit is looking for animation support for an online game that helps us build awareness of our mission.

We will need one at least intermediate level 3D Modeler/3D Animator to translate already existing character designs into a 3D environment, giving the characters idle animations and potentially throwing animations to fit the vibe of the game. Most characters that already exist have a spherical head/body with legs and shoes (sort of Pac-Man like). The only exception to this rule would be one of the characters being a pig that stands on two legs and has hooves like a normal pig despite this sort of anthropomorphic nature.

This project is for a gaming application called "baldorf" and is based on a real-life physical game that encourages healthy living, community service, and having fun. At its core, baldorf is a simple game where the player bounces or throws a ball at a court earning as many points as possible before getting out. baldorf is used as a way to expand the mission of nonprofit Mystic Rhoads Productions: to use the power of our products to build momentum for positive community change. MRP uses baldorf to bring people together in community for some good and simple fun while gaining support in its focus areas of education, healthy living, and community service. The baldorf application also serves as a part of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) Senior Design initiative, which gives budding Software Engineers and Computer Scientists experience working in a real-world environment. baldorf 1.0 was created in 2020 by a group of Senior Design students. This project will help take the app to the next level as a new group of Senior Design students create baldorf 2.0.

At any point of completion for the characters', we have a development team constantly making updates to the game in order to test new animations, designs, and functionality. You can rest assured that your interpretation of these 3D characters will be put to use as soon as they are sent to us.
