Project Overview

For this project, we are seeking a skilled graphic design volunteer to design a logo for a nonprofit organization that provides equine assisted mental health services to military veterans and their families, at-risk youth, and others with mental health needs. This logo will be an essential component of our organization’s brand identity and will be used across all communication materials including our website, social media, and print materials. We are looking for a logo that captures the essence of our organization’s mission and the power of the human-equine bond in providing healing. The logo should convey a sense of connection and hope and be visually-appealing and memorable. We envision the logo will incorporate the image of a horse and a person, perhaps walking in step together (drawing from our name “STEPS” With Horses). We would like the logo to be versatile and adaptable to different types of media, including print and digital. More specifically, the project will require the following:
Initial consultation: the volunteer designer will meet with our team to discuss the vision and goals for the logo design
Concept development: The designer will create concept designs for the logo
Design revisions: The designer will work with our team to revise and refine the chosen logo design

Having an updated logo designed by a skilled volunteer is a priority for STEPS at this stage because it will help us better convey our mission and values, and create a stronger brand identity that resonates with our target audience. We’d like a logo that better conveys our belief in the power of the human-horse bond in our services to help us better communicate our message and impact. An updated logo will allow for a visual representation of our organization’s values and goals while increasing our credibility, recognition, and engagement to build relationships with donors, partners, and stakeholders. By partnering with a volunteer designer, we can achieve a more impactful brand identity while directing more resources towards our services and provide increased scholarship funding for services for clients with financial need. It is also an opportunity for the designer to contribute their skills and expertise to a meaningful cause.

We have made several preparations to ensure that we are ready to implement the volunteer designer’s work once completed. We have identified where our current logo falls short and how we would like to better represent our organization’s missions nd values. We will provide the designer with all of the necessary information and resources that they will need and will be available to provide feedback and guidance throughout the project. Once complete, we will review the final deliverables and work with the designer to make any revisions. We will then incorporate the new logo into our organization’s branding and marketing materials. To support this project, we have allocated sufficient time and resources to ensure that the designer will have what they need. We can provide additional concept ideas and information on how we would like these concepts to be improved upon to create a stronger logo and brand identity. The designer will work with the executive director and volunteer branding specialist.
