We seek design, layout, and graphics support for INFMCP's Implementing SNAP EBT (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program; Electronic Benefits Transfer) at Indiana Farmers Markets Toolkit. The Indiana Farmers Market Community of Practice (INFMCP), along with our partners, the Indiana Department of Health, Indiana FSSA, and Purdue Extension Community Wellness Coordinators, formed a work group to develop a toolkit to assist farmers market managers and vendors in implementing SNAP EBT at farmers markets.

The toolkit is composed of 21 one-page documents, 4 brochures, and one Farmers Market Training PDF - all documents that explain key requirements and steps that need to be followed to implement SNAP EBT at farmers markets. The toolkit was designed in Canva using a basic template. The workgroup would like the toolkit to have a professional layout and design, since the toolkit will be published on the Indiana Farmers Market Community of Practice's (INFMCP) website under Food Access: https://infmcp.org/food-access/. The documents in the toolkit will be translated into Spanish and Burmese for use at farmers' markets and will be made available on the INFMCP website.

The Indiana Farmers Market Community of Practice (INFMCP) provides resources, training, and technical assistance for farmers' markets across the state of Indiana. The Implementing SNAP at Indiana Farmers Markets Toolkit is scheduled to launch in early 2024 well before the summer farmers market season starts. Market managers will be able to use the toolkit to train their vendors, staff, volunteers, and boards on how to implement SNAP EBT at farmers' markets. SNAP EBT is a federal nutrition program, which must be implemented correctly, hence, the need for training and guidance. For farmers' markets with high vendor and staff turnover, the toolkit will be a training tool for market staff, volunteers, and vendors on proper SNAP EBT procedures.

The one-page documents may also be used day of market as a reminder of best practices and to provide customers with information on how SNAP EBT is implemented at farmers markets. Having SNAP EBT at farmers markets is important to the market and the community they serve because SNAP EBT helps markets reach new, diverse audiences making the market accessible, and inclusive. SNAP EBT does this by facilitating the purchase of healthy local foods, primarily fresh fruits, and vegetables, offered at farmers markets. Dollars spent at farmers' markets help support local farmers and stay within the community.

The workgroup has already put in over 75 hours of work developing and editing the content of the 21 one-page documents, four brochures, and training PDF on implementing SNAP EBT at farmers markets. Once the toolkit is finalized, it will be published and accessible to all on the INFMCP website under Food Access: www.infmcp.org/food-access/. The toolkit will be translated into Spanish and Burmese and published and made accessible on the INFMCP website. It will also be shared through the INFMCP's newsletter, Dig In, and through monthly webinars, special trainings, and during our annual conference, The Indiana Farmers Market Forum, which is held in early February 2024.
