Project Overview
We need a style guide for external facing comms that includes specific colors, fonts, and other graphic design elements in formats we can use in print and digital, and to adapt our Kid City Hope Place logo to reflect that this is our 15th year anniversary! We're looking for a volunteer who's excited about our mission and has experience with brand and voice. This is a highly visible project that will impact us for a long time! This style guide may also include the following:
-Rules and guidelines for staff and board members to maintain brand consistency
-Tone and voice guidelines and examples
-Formatting examples
-Grammar, spelling, and punctuation preferences
-Instructions for utilizing the brand style guide based on communications channel or stakeholder
-The value of a consistent brand and voice
Kid City has been serving our community for 15 years, and we are still struggling to maintain financial stability. We need our external facing comms to reflect the great work we do, and be consistent so that supporters will be able to find us. Since we just had our 15th birthday, this is a great time to do a special adaptation of our logo. We also plan to do a 15-year impact report as soon as we have a new logo and style guide. We will use the impact report to engage and recruit new corporate and foundation donors.
We have a great logo, but need to update the colors and add "15 years." We have a lot of recent designs on Canva for reference and can show a designer what has worked well in the past. We don't need to recreate everything, just make our branding consistent. As soon as we have a logo and branding, we want to apply it to all our external comms, but most importantly, a 15-year impact report.
Nonprofit Overview
Our Kid City program encourages teens and young adults to find their voice, share their stories, and become self-empowered leaders. Our small staff works with volunteers, mentors and families to provide programs in leadership development, music and arts, college access, and college completion in a welcoming and supportive environment.
