Project Overview

We need to strengthen our social media presence! The Los Gatos Education Foundation works to raise $2.6 MM to ensure that the children of the Los Gatos Union School District have a quality education, providing additional teachers and staff in Art, Spanish, STEAM, Music, PE, Counseling, Middle School Electives, and Innovation Grants, staff that are not possible to provide with state and federal funding.

We would like a volunteer to help us with:
1) Evaluate our current social media presence.
2) Provide input on what we are missing - do we need to be on TikTok, or should we leave Facebook, etc?
3) Plan a social media strategy, including a timeline, schedule, and success metrics for an annual campaign.
4) Put together a content calendar for an annual campaign.
5) Evaluation and suggestions on providing cross-content for other Los Gatos school and Business Sponsors' social media accounts. How best to tag, etc.

A quality education is one of the most important building blocks in a community. The Los Gatos Education Foundation (LGEF) has grown so much in the past 10 years, from raising less than $500,000 to now raising $2.6 MM -- all with minimal staff and only volunteer marketing support.

While LGEF has a strong media presence, and a great overall strategic marketing plan, a great email marketing plan, we have struggled with social media, due to a lack of staff or volunteer time, interest, and skillset.

LGEF has a very robust business sponsorship program that supports our fundraising efforts - all local businesses - that we would like to highlight on our social media platforms. We would also like to better highlight our amazing educators and innovative programs that the $2.6 MM support. We would love to showcase the products of our students --from the art, music performances, and STEAM labs in our schools. Finally, we have a fundraising cycle that would be great to mesh into the overall social media strategy.

Our goal is to create a larger awareness of the work we do - our mission is to provide a quality education. We would love some professional help evaluating our current social media, and identifying a social media strategy that will provide LGEF more general brand awareness in the community, increase awareness of our wonderful group of business sponsors, and also mesh with the other Los Gatos-based social media accounts.

We have a great marketing plan for the overall fundraising cycles. We have a fantastic business development sales team and a strong list of business sponsors. We have a lot of great "product" of the investments we have made in our schools. There is so much great content ready to be showcased! We would love some evaluation on what we are currently doing on social media, and how better to manage a year-long, ongoing social media presence.

We would love some great suggestions on schedule and success/impact metrics. If we have a plan, it is easier to have a community member volunteer take over, and it will actually get done! We have access to high school volunteers who would like to intern at LGEF, and run our social media presence - but without a clear strategy, plan, and templates, it is hard to hand it over to a high school-level volunteer. We would love your help!
