Project Overview

Our non-profit organization has started a podcast to help expand the reach of our mission. We would love a volunteer's help with an advertising and marketing strategy for the podcast.

The podcast is called Trauma Barbie. Our main goal on the podcast is to share conversations that will help end the stigma surrounding mental health and trauma. In each episode, I aim to share what I’ve learned on my own healing journey and also through starting a nonprofit that serves survivors of physical and sexual violence.

Though some of these topics may be heavy, we vow to approach this conversation differently and more authentically than you’ve ever heard before. We’re here to advocate for women, education, and mental health, while also embracing the art of comedy and the powerful healing vibrations of laughter. In other words, we try not to take ourselves too seriously.

This unique approach of our podcast can help reach so many other women on their healing journey, we just need some help getting it out there.

We have the podcast set up through Spotify and have released 4 episodes, with 4 more currently being edited. We are ready to start anytime!

Nonprofit Overview

The mission of The Usual Artspects is to provide healing and empowerment through art for female survivors of physical violence and sexual abuse to improve the quality of their life mentally, emotionally, and physically. Through a safe supportive environment, we provide advocacy, awareness, community, education, and resources for survivors through various art and social events, along with artistic therapeutic healing programs and workshops.

Our programs create a safe space for therapeutic release and overlooked artistic voices from trauma survivors. Expressive Art Programs and Art Therapy have been proven to reduce symptoms of Anxiety, Depression, C-PTSD, and PTSD in survivors of sexual abuse and violence. Our target populations include underserved women and children in the Grapevine community and surrounding Dallas Fort Worth areas.
