Project Overview

Volunteer your digital marketing and content expertise to our nonprofit! We are searching for a volunteer to conduct a website content audit that may include the following activities:
-Inventory and assessment of New American Leader’s existing website content
-Recommendations of new content according to communication goals
-Assess the technical SEO health of our website, including elements like page loading speed, mobile responsiveness, and structured data markup, to ensure search engines can crawl and index our content effectively.
-Prioritize content optimization tasks based on potential impact and effort, outlining specific actions to improve existing content performance.
-Develop a content creation brief template that outlines key elements like target audience, content goals, format, tone, and call to action, ensuring consistent and effective content creation.
-Include an assessment of our website's visual content (images, videos, infographics) to ensure it's high-quality, relevant, and engaging.
-Evaluate how well our website content integrates with our social media channels to maximize reach and engagement.

A comprehensive website content audit for New American Leaders would significantly contribute to our organizational goals in several key ways.

Firstly, it would enhance the effectiveness of our website by improving audience engagement. The audit would identify low-performing content and suggest improvements, leading to longer visit times, higher conversion rates, and a more impactful online presence. Additionally, it would enhance Search Engine Optimization (SEO), improving our website's ranking in search results and reaching a wider audience.

Secondly, the audit would support strategic content development. By understanding which content performs well and where gaps exist, we can focus future content creation efforts on topics that resonate with our audience and support our goals. The audit can also identify opportunities to repurpose or optimize existing content, maximizing our resources.

Lastly, a website content audit would have an overall organizational impact by enabling more efficient resource allocation, demonstrating the value of content marketing, and strengthening our credibility as a thought leader in our field. Overall, a website content audit is a strategic investment that can help New American Leaders achieve its goals and make a greater impact on our mission.

NAL is prepared to support our volunteer(s) with the following:
-Clear understanding of the target audiences.
-Communication goals document: we can outline the website's overall communication goals, including brand messaging, desired user actions, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
-Style guide: we can share a style guide that details brand voice, tone, formatting preferences, and content quality standards.
-Website analytics access: website analytics tools like Google Analytics to understand content performance metrics like traffic, engagement, and conversions.
-Dedicated staff member: a specific staff member will be the point of contact to answer questions, provide clarifications, and address any roadblocks during the audit.
-Project management tools: we can use our project management tool, Asana, to facilitate communication, track progress, and assign tasks related to the audit.

We plan to incorporate suggestions as soon as the project is complete.

Nonprofit Overview

New American Leaders (NAL) is building a more inclusive democracy by preparing first and second generation Americans to run for office, win their campaigns, and lead in elected office. We embrace the immigrant experience as a civic leadership asset and provide opportunities that support participants over the course of their leadership journey, from candidate and campaign staff training, to coaching and campaign bootcamps, to governance support once in office. As the only national organization dedicated to empowering New Americans in the civic process, we understand that lasting change requires diverse leaders at the helm of our democracy.
