Project Overview

We need help getting the most out of Little Green Light. Specifically, we need help:
-Setting up Little Green Light to automatically send out gift acknowledgment emails. The gifts might be a cash donation, hours volunteered, or soft credits for matching cash or matching hours. Some donations shouldn't have a tax receipt because they've come from a DAF or similar entity (Benevity).

-Check if we're using the LGL designations (Campaigns, Funds, Appeals, Groups) appropriately and efficiently, and make recommendations to better do so.

-Advice on how to better use Little Green Light to track our interactions related to grants.

-A review of how we are entering the data (uploading from Excel) to see if we can be more efficient about it.
If possible, set up (or show us the limitations of) Little Green Light to track our students and what programs they participate in.

Once the volunteer implements the recommended changes, we’d like a brief training session and/or documented guidelines to follow so that we can maintain and adapt the CRM going forward.

We started using LGL in June 2019 but used it minimally. Pre-pandemic and through it, we had some donors, but they had close ties to XBOT and really didn't care whether they received acknowledgments or not. Our typical pattern was to make sure donations and volunteer hours were uploaded by mid-January, both for our information and to facilitate sending out annual tax donation letters.

Post-pandemic, our expenses are rising and our funding channels have changed. We know we need to make a concerted effort for fundraising, which includes making sure our donors feel appreciated and informed. We need to be thanking them in a timely manner. We're beginning to send out regular newsletters and we need to have a good mailing list for the newsletters to be effective. We have applied for and received grants. We need to make sure we're tracking all communication with our funders and meeting report deadlines. Tracking our students is useful for writing grants and for following up with our students as they become alumni. For the past two years, we've been doing that tracking using Excel but it's becoming cumbersome.

I love the support LGL provides, but that only helps when we know what questions to ask. We need the help of someone knowledgeable about LGL to show us what can be done and how to do it efficiently.

We've been using LGL for almost 5 years and know the basics. We know some of the capabilities we want to implement but haven't had the time to figure out the best way to implement them and lack the confidence that we'll implement them efficiently.
