We are in the process of re-branding, and have an imminent need of how to create ourselves as an expert in the field. We have many other needs- from finance and 3 year plan, but this is the primary priority immediately.
Nonprofit Overview
The mission of IAHV Prison SMART is to make a life-transforming difference in the lives of all people working in, or incarcerated within, the criminal justice system. Prison SMART teaches skills that reduce stress, heal trauma, and provides practical knowledge of how to handle negative emotions in order to live to one’s highest potential and contribute to society in a positive way.
IAHV Prison SMART program aims to reduce offender recidivism and end the repeating cycle of violence and abuse that dominates many areas of our society. When troubled or stressed, then individuals react from anger, fear and misguided notions of how one can be happy. When stress is not dominating an individual, the core human values innate in all human beings become manifest, such as service to others and compassion.
