Session Overview
Somerville Rescue Squad has about 20 active volunteers responding to 911 calls in several towns on nights and weekends. Like other rescue squads, we had to subcontract week day shifts to paid staff since volunteers work during day. We are looking to keep our volunteer base on nights and weekends and start hiring our own paid EMTs to fill the day shifts. None of our board nor members have any expertise in HR management. We are trying to understand what procedures related to HR we need to implement. We are looking for a volunteer that might also be familiar with any NJ state employment laws. Thanks.

The Somerville Rescue Squad is committed to providing the highest quality emergency medical and technical rescue services available to the communities we serve. At the same time, we will facilitate the education, training, and understanding of injury and illness prevention as well as our role in the response, treatment, and transportation of the sick and injured.
