Session Overview
Arden Shore is celebrating its 125th year of serving Chicagoland’s North Shore. To mark the anniversary, Arden Shore has 3 major public events planned:
- June 2023: Honorary street naming ceremony with the City of Waukegan and cocktail celebration at Arden Shore
- October 2023: Large mural unveiling at a prominent location in Chicago with celebration (brunch or cocktails)
- June 2024: Major fundraiser
One of the primary goals of the events is to build awareness and the organization's network of support. We anticipate that public and media relations expertise will be key to achieving our goals. We are looking for advice on how to scope an engagement, find the right firm, and what we can anticipate as outcomes of a PR engagement.
Nonprofit Overview
The mission of Arden Shore Child and Family Services is to rebuild children's lives in a caring community. Formed in 1898 Arden Shore began as a summer respite camp for mothers and children. Over the years the facility and location have changed, but the driving force has always been to build the well-being of children and families so that everyone can reach their full potential.
Operating in Waukegan, the agency primarily serves the residents of Lake County. Arden Shore helps the diverse children and families who need support to overcome psychological, emotional, and behavioral barriers, resulting from abuse or neglect, trauma, mental illness, and substance abuse. Last year, Arden Shore's dedicated team of experts provided expert care and resources to more than 1,850 children and adults.
The organization offers three primary programs to the community:
-Intact Family Preservation Services keep families together. Early intervention can keep families intact by providing resources, like mental health care and skill-based parenting programs, that help caregivers construct and strengthen healthy relationships.
-Foster Care Services protect kids and strengthen families so kids can return home. The goal is to reunite the child with birth parents; if that is not possible children will be placed with foster or adoptive parents who can provide the necessary permanency, stability, and love we all need to reach our full potential.
-Behavioral Health and Support Services Counseling professionals work with adults, children, and families to make sure they have the therapy they need to heal from trauma and strengthen mental health.
