Session Overview
In this consultation session, our primary objective is to address a pressing issue in our QuickBooks accounting system concerning the handling of donor-restricted gifts. A recent attempt to transfer these funds from accounts payable to a restricted equity account via a journal entry led to a loss of crucial detail, posing a challenge in our financial tracking. The existing guidance lacked clarity and didn’t provide actionable steps for resolution, nor did it outline how similar entries should be handled going forward.
We require a skilled volunteer proficient in non-profit accounting and QuickBooks, to not only help rectify this specific problem but also to provide clear, step-by-step instructions for managing such transactions in the future, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting. This will significantly aid in maintaining transparency and trust with our donors, which is pivotal for our organization's operations and reputation.
