Session Overview

My current board has 6 members. It is a hybrid board, meaning that some members are responsible for program operation/event planning, while others function solely in governance.

Two of my current board members have said they will likely leave the board in September 2024. One is our event planner and the other is responsible for an important fee-for-service program.

My organization is 75% through our 2-month board recruitment season and we have no viable candidates at present. One board member has recommended 2 people as candidates, and I have "pre-interviewed" them. Neither is in a position to apply to join us right now.

This is the first time we have opened a specific window for board recruitment.

It has become apparent to me that the majority of the board does not have the network required to bring in the people of affluence or people of influence we need to sustain and grow the nonprofit.

I am creating a list of such people, but I do not have relationships with most of them.

My ED coach suggested that I contact Taproot. He said that you find board members for nonprofits.
