Session Overview
I would like to refine the organization's mission statement, in order to show that our major project is in alignment with the organization's name. And discuss changing the name of the organization.
We started out with a broader mission and have narrowed our focus. I'd like to show the changes on our 990. We have already changed our By-Laws and modified our Articles of Association to reflect more concentration on the Black community and how self-knowledge is a key tenant of good overall health.

The Before Slavery Experience chronicles pre-slavery history and tells the story of the cultures from which African Americans came. We educate through exhibitions, community programs and varied events. We seek to inspire a positive outlook.
The Before Slavery Exhibition is a project of the Vibrant Health Association (VHA). The VHA mission is to educate the public that the results of slavery impact the health of this population causing disproportionately higher rates of debilitating and life-threatening disease; and to counter those effects with self-knowledge, and stress reduction activities.
