Project Overview

We are seeking one or two individuals to assist us with developing and implementing a volunteer service program to support the activities of our organization. The volunteer service program would have established policies and procedures for onboarding and screening processes. Moreover, a template to use that outlines the specific task(s) we need from our volunteers. Deliverables would be: policy and procedures and volunteer job descriptions that would appeal to the right fit for our organization and ideas of how to disseminate requests for volunteers.
As a volunteer-based non-profit, human capital is a key asset we need to be successfully accomplish our mission, "keeping youjng girls and women afloat". Our team comprises high energy and fun-type people. We are dedicated to making a difference in the community and more specifically with youth who have been historically marginalized and excluded in the STEM space. Each one, reach one and teach one is our approach in building our community and we accomplish this approach through volunteers. We believe that this project would be gratifying to the person applying to work with us on this project. They- will feel our passion and sense of community and they would be making a difference in ensuring young women from underserved and under-resourced communities have the necessary tools to explore their STEM identity in a safe and empowering space.
We currently have a chief operating officer who is excited to work with a pro bono expert to build a network of volunteers to support our program. Moreover, we have a database of individuals interested in volunteering. Moreover, we have established a background check/screening system to ensure that volunteer applicants pose no risk to working with youth. Moreover, the CEO has allocated time each week to work with the COO and volunteers to ensure that the project stays on track.
